Searching the laptops and hard disks seized from the terror suspects has revealed that they had created email ids in the name of Bollywood superstars to communicate with their handlers.

Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have so far arrested 14 persons regarding their alleged involvement in a terror plot. Sources said the accused had created the email ids on August 11 this year. These ids were in use only for a couple of days.

The police claim that there are a few more email ids they have to get through as the accused claim to have forgotten the password and the police. The accused used to create new fake email ids regularly to communicate with their handlers.
The email ids find a mention in the CCB’s application that was submitted before the 1st additional chief metropolitan magistrate recently, seeking extension of the custody of the accused for interrogation.

Police sources claim that the investigating agency has stumbled upon some startling revelations by getting access to these email ids. A case in point is information about yet another person who was on the hit-list of the suspects—a Hyderabad-based advocate who heads a right-wing outfit. Upon decoding the encrypted emails of Mohammed Akram, the police deduced that the suspects were planning to kill Hyderabad’s B Rajavardhan Reddy, who also happens to be the president of Hindu Vahini.

After this revelation, the police are investigating Akram’s contacts and the possible logistics support he was getting to kill Reddy. Akram had managed to get a voter’s ID card from Hyderabad and the police are trying to find out how he did it.

The CCB officials said that it was by monitoring the suspects’ emails that they learnt that two city-based journalists were on their hit-list. The police have uploaded all the data on a storage disk and sent it to Forensic Science Laboratory, Hyderabad, to get more information.
