Dissatisfaction has erupted in Congress over re-constitution of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC). Opposition leader Siddaramaiah too has expressed displeasure over the selection of new committee members.

Several members appointed to the committee were not found to be active in any party functions, and most of the appointed members were former MLAs and ministers. Including youths, many prominent leaders were neglected while re-constituting the KPCC.

Reacting to the appointment of new office-bearers to KPCC, Siddaramaiah said, “Yes, I am unhappy over the appointments, but I will not discuss it publicly. I will express my opinion within the party forum and demand to give preference to the new, young and really hard working people,” he said. Some of the senior leaders are planning to lead a delegation to Delhi to submit their grievances to the party high command.

Meanwhile, former minister T John has resigned for the membership of Congress. He wrote a letter to KPCC president and expressed his unhappiness over the selection.

“It is normal. After several years, KPCC has been re-constituted, and there may be some lapses. But that lapses can be rectified; it should not be raised in public,” said Congress leader Dinesh Gundurao.
