Ravi Poojari’s men attack TV channel office

A TV channel office was attacked by alleged associates of underworld don Ravi Poojari on CMH Road, Indiranagar on Saturday evening. A channel employee was injured in the attack.

Police said UTV channel office located on the 3rd floor of Ram Plaza was attacked when security guard Sathish Kumar and his friend Jammal were present in the office.

Six youths, brandishing gun-like objects, barged into the office and broke three computers and window panes. They claimed they were Poojari’s associates and said UTV MD Ronni Screwvalla was not heeding to Poojari’s words.

The culprits, speaking in Kannada and Hindi, left behind what they claimed was Poojari’s England landline number. Later, a person claiming to be Poojari is said to have called the UTV’s Mumbai office and accused Screwvala of being a Dawood Ibrahim man. DNA’s efforts to reach the England landline number, purportedly of Poojari, revealed that it was ficitious.
