Rakshita joins BRS Congress

B Sriramulu’s BSR Congress party has started making its presence felt with yesteryear, Sandalwood star Rakshita, joining the party on Friday.

The actor said she chose to join Sriramulu’s party because she was inspired by his hard work.

“I am a fan of Sriramulu. He won by a great margin in the recent assembly by-election. I am confident that BSR Congress will be No. 1 within a span of six months in the state,” she said, adding that joining politics was not a sudden decision.  Rakshita retired from acting five years ago to take care of her child. “I have time now. I am still associated with the film industry and support my husband Prem,” she added. She  joined politics on  her fifth wedding anniversary.

On how their godfather Ambareesh would perceive her move, since he supports the Congress, Rakshita said he is like a family member and joining a party would not harm their relationship.

Welcoming her, Sriramulu said that the BRS Congress will be gain immensely from Rakshita’e entry.

He added that Rakshita would join him during the hunger strike in Gadag on March 13 and 14, demanding the development of northern Karnataka.
