Chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda on Thursday said the state government would soon unveil its aerospace policy to promote the sector in the state.

Speaking after releasing the brochure of the Global Investors Meet (GIM), 2012, Gowda said many such initiatives introduced in Bangalore had eventually become national initiatives. “Other states walk the path we have created. The state’s contribution in building the nation is unique,” he said.

“The state government will conduct international road shows in Singapore, Japan and US next week onwards. It has already conducted shows in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Karnataka,’’ the chief minister said.

He said GIM Expo—slated for June 6, 7 and 8—would focus on various industry verticals such as aerospace, agriculture, energy, health, IT, infrastructure, textiles and tourism. “This is an opportunity for GIM 2012 to transform itself into a unique knowledge and B2B platform,” he said.

Minister for large and medium industries, Murugesh R Nirani, said GIM 2012 aimed to bring business and thought leaders, investors, corporations as well as policy and opinion makers under one roof.
“It will provide opportunities to participants through a unique initiative called India Partnering Opportunities,” Nirani said.

He advised industrialists to express their views at the conference instead of going to the media and talk about the lack of infrastructural facilities. Meanwhile, Mohan Suresh, consul of Rwanda, signed a memorandum of understanding with the state government for a separate pavilion at GIM Expo for Rwanda and East Africa. He requested the chief minister to organise road shows in Rwanda and East Africa.
