Just 14, but she’s already written 2 novels

The book is about a high-school girl who had to move to sweden against her wish.

She is just a 14-year-old girl but has already written two novels. This young author launched her first novel when she was 12 while the second one was released here on Thursday, her birthday.

Harshita Magdum, author of two books, launched her second novel, almost Desperate, and promised the readers a thrilling experience. Magdum said she believes in dreaming and lets her imagination fly when she pens down her thoughts to a story.

almost Desperate is a story about the survival of a high-school girl, named Lucy, who has to move to Sweden with her father against her wish. Her best friend Sam falls for her and also holds the secret about the mysterious death of people in Colombia, including her mother’s. Lucy’s love, Mike, keeps suspiciously disappearing from her life and there is something she is clueless about.

Sam and his friend, who are aware of the secret, themselves turn into shadow creatures as they are running away from the danger and are trying to protect Lucy.

Magdum’s first novel was released when she was 12 years old. It was a science fiction called Ruby rush. She is working on her third novel, which would come out in the summer this year.

Magdum said she was learning and improving with each book. She named Sydney Sheldon and Sandra Clark among her favourite authors.

Sa Shi Marulaiah, Kannada writer, was the chief guest at the launch. He described Magdum as a gifted child with great talent to write.

Dr Subramanya, director, RV College of Engineering, and Gita Kandargi, the headmistress of Magdum’s school —Delhi Public School (Bangalore South)—were also present for the book release to appreciate the achievements of the young writer.
