It’s Bangalore to Goa on the Golden Chariot

The train is on tracks and the bookings are full. Come October 10 and the Golden Chariot will launch its first trip of the season from Bangalore to Goa — a seven night-eight day package.

Also, a large number of foreigners have reserved seats for the trip.

“About 75 to 80 passengers will be travelling on the first trip. Half the travellers comprises top international travel agents from various parts of the globe, including theUK, France, US and Australia,” said Srinivas M, project director, The Golden Chariot.
While in the first trip, all the passengers are boarding from Bangalore, the travellers have been given the option of hopping in and hopping out at any of the stations.

The ‘Pride of South’ tour in the Golden Chariot will cover the distance from Bangalore to Goa and back, including destinations like Mysore, Kabini, Savanabelega, Humpi, Badami etc.

The consecutive week will see the train going for Southern Splendour trip, covering Chennai, Mamallapuram, Puducherry, Tanjavur, Madurai, Kanyakumari, Kovalam and Alleppay.

Earlier Golden Chariot had two packages but now the department has kept the option of a fortnight package ‘Discover South India in 14 days’ open for the travellers. In these packages, they can explore the whole of South India and Goa.

“We are getting many more enquiries than last year and the booking are also better this time, since this time, the travellers can choose any destination according to their convenience and book themselves any trip between three to 14 days packages,” added Srinivas.
