Bangaloreans are always on about a lack of space in our homes, in which to grow potted plants. Now, one environment-savvy team, headed by Amit Gupta, has started Pot-O-Synthesis, an initiative where plants can be kept in cabinets in an office.

Indoor plants require little maintenance, and have multiple benefits; like absorbing harmful gases and providing the greenery some long for. They only require that you sprinkle a little water on them every day and  expose them to natural light on weekends.
Kuruvilla K, who has purchased a few interior plants, says, “Pot-O-synthesis is highly recommended. The variety of plants is large, and I am very happy with them. The service from the company was good too.”

Sagar C, a management executive, is all for the idea: “Well I would definitely say ‘yes’ if I had a say on interiors. Irrespective of that, it’s a great idea to spread green awareness among your co-workers in order to make it a greener world.”

When it comes to greenery though, Sunil P, a lecturer, prefers it in corridors or outside. “People seem to be opting for these plants more for the green effect it creates. That can be supplied by posters. If you really want plants, use whatever space is available and grow trees outside,” he says.

“It’s definitely not possible to keep plants in a laboratory,” says Krishna Joshi of ITC research, “There is no restriction otherwise, but plants usually stop at the reception or are housed in the corridors.”

The concept is, however, strictly for people with personal cabinets. “There is no place in smaller offices. This will lead to clutter, unless it’s a personal cabinet,” says Santhosh N from HP.

Sam from Infosys, says, “I have never heard of this concept in Bangalore. It’s a great idea.”

“I already have interior plants. They are very easy to maintain. We expose them to sunlight once a week. It is a great idea for office-goers,” says a happy J Venkataraman, vice-president of a jacket company.
