The Lok Ayukta special court will give its verdict on the bail petition filed by former minister Katta Subramanya Naidu on October 4.

The resident medical officer of Victoria Hospital, Dr Kantha Raj, was present in court and the authorities submitted medical records of the former minister in a sealed cover.

Judge NK Sudhindra Rao had earlier directed the hospital authorities to provide medical report to the court. He said the report should mention what stage of cancer Naidu was in and what treatment was required.

During the course of arguments, Ravi B Naik, counsel for Naidu, submitted to the court that biopsy could be conducted in a hospital in Mumbai.

The judge also wanted to know the proposed action plan after conducting the biopsy. The counsel said that once the court gave the orders, the plan on the treatment would be provided to the court three or four days after the former minister gets admitted there.

Advocate Pramod Chandra, the public prosecutor, objected to granting absolute bail and said only interim bail should be given to Katta for treatment.

Katta, his son Katta Jagadish, and SV Srinivas, managing director of Itasca software, are facing charges of irregularities in land allotment of Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) in BK Halli village to the software company.

After the Lok Ayukta court sent Katta to judicial custody, the former minister filed a bail plea claiming that he had been suffering
from diabetes mellitus, hypertension and cervical spondylytis.
