Cost effective, world class healthcare sought for all

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B) kicked off its annual festival Vista 2012 on Friday.

This time, the theme of the festival is ‘Challenge Convention, Transform Tomorrow’.

Dr Devi Shetty,  chairman of Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospitals, who was the chief guest, spoke of his vision of an  India where all citizens will have access to  world class healthcare.

“This is possible since India has a rich pool of qualified doctors. However, it is unfortunate that doctors are still forced to put a price on human life due to economic constraints,” he said.

Ajoy Chawla,  global business head of Titan Industries, who delivered the key-note address, shared his views on how the philosophy of consumerism is having a detrimental effect on society and our planet.
