Describing his maiden budget as good, chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda on Wednesday said his conscience was clear and he had done a good job. He said the budget was presented to maintain financial discipline. He added that presenting the budget was not a circus.

“It was a challenge for me, and it stressed me out a lot,” Gowda explained.

“Priority is given to complete the projects that were announced when the party came to power. We will continue to do the development works,” Gowda said.

Extending his gratitude to the people of the state and senior party leaders, the chief minister said that while preparing the budget, he kept in mind four main objectives: Growth for economic prosperity; inclusion to ensure all sections of the society receive the fruits of development; good governance to dole out better services to people and taxation as a tool of development.
