Senior BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu today said the party was confident of proving its majority tomorrow and clarified that the BJP had accepted the offer of a second vote of confidence only to clear any misgivings in the minds of the people over the issue.

"There was no need for a second trust vote but we want to remove misgivings in the minds of the people who could have doubts that the BJP legislators had broken rules and had come to blows going by certain reports," he told reporters here.

"We will prove majority without doubt," he said.

He said there was no question of 'charity' by Governor HR Bhardwaj in offering a second vote and reiterated that chief minister was an elected head while the governor was nominated.

He said the governor was given to the habit of preaching.

"Who has given him this authority. He is more of a politician and less of a governor," he said.

"The Raj Bhavan has become a temporary part time office of the Congress-JDS and also some businessmen and those unhappy with the state government," he alleged.

Instead of acting as the guardian of the Constitution, the governor became a "centre of dissident activity", he said.

It was not the Governor's business to interfere and pass caustic remarks against the BJP government, he said adding "He (Bharadwaj)has been pouring venom against the BJP government."

The people of Karnataka deserve a "good governor" who is above politics and the Centre should ensure this in the interest of democracy and better state-centre relationship, he said adding a BJP delegation had met the Prime Minister and pressed for the Governor's recall.

Ridiculing the JDS and Congress claim that they were not interested in forming the government, he said if this was true why were they trying to wean away its members.

"There was an internal problem in the BJP", he admitted but "the opposition has no business to intervene."

He warned the Congress against "misusing Governor office" in Karnataka akin to their alleged "misuse" of the CBI office in Gujarat.
