Members of Arkavathy Layout Allotees’ Association will take part in a unique protest campaign against the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA).

The members — after realising that there was no response from the BDA in allotting sites — have decided to send fax and e-mails to the BDA commissioner, explaining their grievances.

A complaint letter explaining the problems caused by the BDA can be faxed to 080 - 23345799 or e-mailed to com@bdabangalore.org.

Site details must also be mentioned in the letter, said the circular released by the association.

Starting Saturday, the members will continue writing to the BDA until the civic authority responds.

Association convener Sanjay Marlecha said the BDA has not taken steps to allot sites even after the farmers’ compensation was settled.

“The BDA commissioner had promised to give detail updates about the Arkavathy Layout on the BDA website. But this has not been done,” he said.  The members’ demands are as follows: Getting registration done, securing basic amenities and alternative sites for the allotees. But nothing has been done so far, they lamented.

Marlecha feared that BDA commissioner Bharat Lal Meena’s term may end by May.

“If he is transferred, we have to once again represent the problem with the new commissioner. This will just be a waste of time, without any progress,” he said.

The members will also start campaigning on Facebook. They plan to conduct a meeting every Sunday at Bannappa Park.
If the BDA or the government does not resolve their problem by March, the members will approach the high court.
