We also have a direct flight to Bangalore now.”

To enhance cultural economic connectivity, Manipur has also decided to hold various programmes in the state.

“There are around 10,000 Manipuri people living in Bangalore. A six-member team from Manipur had come to Bangalore and we studied the IT industry for a week and attended some workshops. The same will be replicated in Imphal soon. This programme is also a part of that exercise,” he said.

Governor HR Bhardwaj said: “Manipur has been having road connectivity issues for many years. But, it all seems to be getting better. The airport and direct flight to Bangalore seems encouraging. The Manipur is a special area of India with many rational thinking people. I hope they have a pleasant stay in Karnataka.”
