A 32-year-old woman ended her life on Saturday morning in her house in Kothanur on Saturday morning, with police suspecting family dispute to be the reason.

The deceased, Yamunavathi, was librarian in Army Institute of Hotel Management. She was also working as a librarian with Government First Grade College in Hoskote.

She ended her life between 8.30am and 9am when her husband, Jayaprakas Reddy had stepped out to drop their son to school.

Upon returning, he found her body hanging from the ceiling fan. He immediately informed the police and took her body to Dr Ambedkar Medical College, where she was declared brought dead.

Police said it was yet to pinpoint the reason that led her to suicide.

An investigation officer said they were suspecting that maybe financial problems—they had started construction of a new house—had led to quarrels between the couple.

The police said there was some misunderstanding between the couple for a few months now and they used to spar often.
The police said they did not find any suicide note.

She was a friendly person
GM Murtheppa, assistant professor for English literature at Government First Grade College, Hoskote, and a colleague of Yamunavathi, said she had a friendly persona and was at good terms with her colleagues and students.

He said she was one of the most respected staff members in the college and everyone adored her. He said that on Friday, the students had celebrated Teachers’ Day and felicitated their favourite teacher, Yamunavathi.

Murtheppa expressed grief at the news that she was no more.
