The budget expects to generate Rs1,500 crore from 151,2850 properties which have been identified through GIS net.

Unaided schools, colleges, choultries, hospitals and service apartments will be considered according to prevailing commercial rates. Revenue department will check 30% of the properties under SAS scheme to prevent pilferage of revenue. Strict action will be initiated against property owners who have deliberately assessed their property less to pay lower taxes.

BBMP is expecting Rs780 crore from telecom companies for laying optical fibre cables in the city. It is planning to implement a new policy to bring optical fibre business into BBMP tax net.

In the case of private properties, advertisement rights will be auctioned, targeting a revenue of Rs150 crore for the year.

BBMP launched a campaign to cover four lakh traders left out of trade licence.

It is discussing with commercial tax department to link up the trade licence as a pre-requisite for issue of value added tax. It expects to get Rs85 crore from these traders. A sum of Rs50 crore is expected from owners of neglected vacant sites as levy for cleaning them up.

BBMP has undertaken a survey of service apartments which are paying property tax as residential units.
The Palike is planning to collect 1.5 times the normal property tax. It expects to generate Rs50 crore as revenue for the fiscal.

Revenue will also be collected from choultries and hotels which generate bulk solid waste, expecting an additional Rs25 crore.
