SWR collects relief materials for stranded pilgrims

The Bharat Scouts and Guides (BS&G) of South Western Railway (SWR) has started collecting flood relief materials from the railway staff in Hubli, Bangalore and Mysore, to help the people stranded in Uttarakhand.

A press release from the SWR said the flood relief materials include rice, atta, dhal, sugar, tea powder, biscuits, toothpastes, soaps, utensils, blankets and towels.

The flood relief material will be sent by a parcel van that will be attached to train No. 06948 Hubli-Miraj Link Express, that is scheduled to leave Hubli at 5 pm on July 4

This van will go up to Madgoan, from where it will be attached to train No.12287 Kochuveli-Dehradun Express and will be handed over to the district magistrate and the person in charge of flood materials at Dehradun by the rovers team.

Special trains
The South Eastern Railway has decided to continue running an express special train between  Hatia-Yesvantpur-Hatia (train Nos. 08635/08636). The train will be run from Hatia end on July 4 and from Yesvantpur end on July 6 ( one special only in each direction), to clear the extra rush.

Train No. 08635 will depart from the Hatia station at 9.40 am on Thursday and arrive at Yesvantpur at 10 pm the next day.
