'Phools'' paradise starts tomorrow

Chief minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the Independence Day Flower Show at Lalbagh on Wednesday. It will be open for public from Wednesday to August 15.

Speaking to mediapersons, DL Maheswar, director of horticulture and chairperson of Mysore Horticulture Society, said the special attractions of the flower show are floral boat, mega hand replicas, vertical floral arrangements at Glass House, diverse floral pots display etc.

He said the rose would be decorated with more than two lakh roses. More than 500 bonsai plants will be on display at the flower show. 

Also, more than 20,00 Carnation, Asiatic Lilly, Limonia, Agapanthus, Statice, Calla Lilly and cut flowers will be aesthetically displayed at a separate pavilion. The entry fee for adults is Rs40 on normal days and Rs50 on holidays (August 9, 10, 11, 15). For children, the fee is Rs10 on normal days. Entry will be free for school children on August 13 and 15 from 9 am to 5 pm.
