Here is an opportunity for research investigators, students, enthusiasts and technology development institutions to pitch in their innovative ideas and develop technologies for the nations Unmanned Autonomous Systems programme.
The city based National Design and Research Forum will organise a two-day workshop next month wherein the research investigators, students, enthusiasts and technology development institutions can participate and foster innovations in the programme.
According to the organisers, one of the unique core objectives is to develop and enhance technologies to fill up the gaps and offer academia and public private organisations a tailored pathway of exchanging knowledge and resources using a workshop format.
"The workshop helps stakeholders to understand and investigate the real world applications of unmanned systems in their specific environment," said the organisers. Unmanned Autonomous Systems that include air, land and water vehicles are an emerging class of technologies that are now routinely employed by the military to support their tactical operation and by civilians for climate research and rescue missions.
The unmanned systems application is rapidly changing with the growth of lower cost technologies and innovative approach to address the technology gaps which will help stake holders in achieving their expected outcomes, added the organisers.
Top scientists, engineers, designers and specialists from the National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADE), the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), private aerospace industries and academic institutions are working extensively on designing, developing, integrating and test flying such vehicles under the Rs 81.15-crore national programme, which is being overseen by the NDRF.
