The rise in the numbers of crime against women in state the state government to take step towards adopt extra security towards girl students.
Umashree, the minister for women and children development department on Monday has written a letter to Home Minister, KJ George asking state government to ensure the safety of women and school children in every places.
In a letter, Umashree stated that the school children have shared that they undergo such ragging and irritation while returning home from school at roadside and bus stops. These incidents would reflect on their mind and harm these young children, she stated.
"There is need for ensuring safety of school children and women in bus stands. Especially after the school hours as many such people keep roaming near school and bus stand . Therefore, there is a need for alerting a high security near schools and colleges. The police jeep should roam near school premises even after school hours to keep an eye on such criminals, letter said.
