As the rehearsals for the upcoming Aero India 2013 start on Saturday at the Air Force Station, Yelahanka, there will be changes in the airline operation schedules at the Bengaluru International Airport (BIA).
Between Saturday and Monday—the period for rehearsals—aircraft operations at BIA will be halted from 10.30 am to noon and from 2 pm to 4 pm. On Tuesday, the operations will be stopped from 10.30 am to noon. During the main event, scheduled from February 6 to 10, aircraft operations will be halted from 10.30 am to noon and from 2 pm to 4 pm.
The BIA authorities said airlines with scheduled aircraft operations that will be affected during this period have received communication on the reduced operating hours. The authorities said that all the changes to airport operations will be made available on the website www.bengaluruairport.com for passengers’ reference.
In view of these runway restrictions at BIA, national carrier Air India has announced changes in its operations schedules from Saturday till the conclusion of the air show, ie till February 10.
Air India has said that its daily early morning flight AI 640 to Mumbai will depart Bangalore at 6.15 am to reach Mumbai at 7.50 am. Its daily mid-morning flight AI 439 to Delhi will depart from Bangalore at 1.10 pm to reach Delhi at 3.45 pm.
Similarly, the flight to Kochi and Chennai, AI 510 operating on all days of the week except Tuesdays, will depart from Bangalore at 3.50 pm to reach Kochi at 4.50 pm and Chennai at 6.30 pm.
Meanwhile, the daily morning flight AI 639 from Mumbai will arrive at Bangalore at 10.15 am and the daily morning flight AI 439 from Delhi via Chennai will land at 12.20 pm. The direct flight AI 506 from Delhi will arrive at Bangalore at 12.10 pm on Tuesdays and at 12.30 hours on the other days of the week.
On the international side, the ‘four days a week’ flight AI 264 from Male (Maldives) via Thiruvananthapuram operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays will arrive in Bangalore at 4.10 pm.
