If the multiple startup events and platforms are not enough, a mobile bus aims at fueling entrepreneurial passions among budding entrepreneurs.

Called the Lean Startup Bus, the vehicle takes a tour of various startups in the city, while simultaneously holding discussions on the move on aspects related to starting a business.

Shivaram, co-ordinator for the Lean Startup Bus, says the objective is to provide a sampling of what entrepreneurship is all about, and the challenges and hardships that entrepreneurs usually face.

“The bus takes off from a central location and goes through various startup offices where budding entrepreneurs can interact with existing startups and get a feel of what it is to commence a business, and know all about the ups and downs that are encountered.”

And en route to the startup offices, sessions and discussions are conducted on the move.

“This is the first such instance in Bangalore. Anyone can participate by paying a fee of Rs300,” says Shivaram.

When the startup bus took off on its maiden journey on Saturday with over 40 aspiring and budding entrepreneurs, it ended up visiting offices of Microsoft Accelerator, Yourstory, Exotel and law firm Fox Mandal.

The budding startups on board got to know not just about stories of how some startups were put together, but also got clarity on their doubts pertaining to technology, legal, sales and marketing aspects of a startup.

Part of the ongoing Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), a worldwide event simultaneously taking place across cities, the startup bus intended to not just steer ahead nascent startups, but motivate working professionals to nurture their entrepreneurial ideas into something concrete.

Ashwin Joshi from the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship at IIM Ahmedabad, says GEW aims at getting people with business ideas to form startups, while simultaneously having policy makers discuss on things that can be done to improve the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

“Such activities help in creating an ecosystem that supports startups and those wanting to become entrepreneurs,” says Joshi.
