The struggle of G Honnanjappa has finally received the much needed support from the authorities concerned. Honnanjappa has been running pillar to post to file a complaint against 212 people including Bharatiya Janata Party MP and former chief minister BS Yeddiyurappa and Sudhindra Rao NK, the then presiding officer, the XXIII Additional Sessions Judge/Special Judge for Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (Karnataka Lokayukta).

In an office memorandum dated May 30, YM Pande, Director (Justice), Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India has directed the Registrar General, Karnataka High Court, to take appropriate action on the representation submitted by Honnanjappa.

"The undersigned is directed to forward herewith a representation (in original) dated 16.01.2014 of Shri G Honnanjappa, House No. 676, Hesaraghatta, Bangalore-560088, Karnataka received through the President's Secretariat vide their letter No. P1/E/2801140221 dated 28.01.2014 for action, as appropriate, under intimation to petitioner,'' Pande stated in the office memorandum to the Registrar General, Karnataka High Court.

According to Honnanjappa, the accused had joined hands and forged 60 documents pertaining to court judgments (both civil and criminal) and revenue mutation records connected with the land he owned at Bidadi and West of Chord Road.

"I have filed criminal complaints with Bidadi police station, Kamakshipalya police station, Basaveswaranagar police station, Soladevanahalli police station and Victoria Hospital police station. The then MLAs V Somanna and SR Vishwanath and their associates entered the special ward at Victoria Hospital and obtained my signatures on blank papers to create illegal rights in their favour on May 31, 2007. I was admitted to Victoria Hospital for 15 days for treatment of injuries,'' recalled Honnanjappa.

He also claimed that he was kidnapped from Hesaraghatta and kept him hostage in Kanakapura for six days and obtained his signatures on June 17, 2004.

"Justice Sudheendra Rao joined hands with the remaining 211 accused and did not take action against them as per law. Now, left with no other option, I had to approach the President of India for justice. I am happy that President's Secretariat directed the Union Ministry of Law and Justice for an appropriate action. YM Pande, director (Justice) had directed the Registrar General, Karnataka High Court for an appropriate action,'' he said.

Now, he wants the High Court Registrar General take appropriate action against all the 212 accused and give proper protection to him and his family members under Article 21 (27) and 31 of Constitution of India and Article 3 of the Human Rights Commission.
