Bengaluru: 3-year-old sexually assaulted by teacher; 4 arrested

A three-year-old was allegedly sexually assaulted by the physical education teacher in a Bengaluru school on Monday. Now, the pre-school’s headmaster, chairman and administrator have been arrested by the Bengaluru police, along with the accused teacher. 

A report in The New Indian Express quotes the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-east) Rohini Katoch Sepat saying that the arrests were made based on the child’s statement. The physical instruction teacher was arrested on Tuesday. He is said to have joined the school just six months back.

The three school officials have now been arrested as they neglected the safety of the schoolchildren, said the report. The school has announced a four-day holiday pending investigation into the incident. Hosur Main Road came to a standstill as parents of school children staged a protest against the school authorities. 

Block Education Officer Munireddy reportedly told the daily that police are checking the teacher's criminal record.
