Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) volunteers who were carrying out a membership and awareness drive near Central Mall at Bellandur on Saturday evening were attacked by three unidentified men.

One of the volunteer, Pankaj, was injured as he was hit with a stick. Police said the three men who came on a two-wheeler picked up an argument with the AAP volunteers, who had put up a chair and poster to create awareness.

The miscreants allegedly questioned the volunteers whose permission they had taken to carry out the drive and tried to remove some posters.

An argument ensued between them and one of the miscreants hit Pankaj with a stick.

Later, the volunteers rushed Pankaj to a nearby hospital, where he was treated as an out patient.
Subsequently, a complaint was lodged with the police.

It is said that the volunteers managed to take some pictures of the attackers and the vehicle, which have been handed over to the police. HSR Layout police are investigating the case.
