Traders' representatives from all over the country will gather in Delhi on Friday to discuss the problems faced because of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Leaders from Ahmedabad, Surat and Kutch will represent Gujarat during the meeting. Political leaders will also be present during the meeting. Traders will urge all of them to take the cognizance of situation and take corrective measures.

Federation of All India Vyapar Mandal, an apex body of leading traders' associations from different parts of the country, has organised a 'Mahamanthan' on Friday.

Federation general secretary VK Bansal said that the government had moderated its stand ahead of the elections in Gujarat, but now the government is in no mood to correct the course. "Solving the genuine issues of GST does not seem to be on the agenda of the government now. Leave alone removing the bottlenecks, the government is conducting raids on the businessmen. There is lots of prosecution," said Bansal. The federation has identified some issues that require immediate resolution.
