Visualise this: Unidentified man shoots three rounds on a person — the shots loud enough to create a panic in the vicinity.  Victim even ‘feels’ one hit his head! Rushes to cops and then to docs with his ‘wound’. However, the attending physicians are left in a tizzy, not seeing the wounds, but trying to find one!

Yes, the case pertains to the goings on, on Friday morning, in an area behind ST bus stand in Gita Mandir. News of an alleged firing taking place there kept the panic-stricken area on tenterhooks. According to a complaint filed by 47-year-old Nikunj Parikh, unidentified gunman fired three rounds on him from a firearm in his electrical store Darshana Enterprises near Gita Mandir at around 10.10 am. Parikh, a resident of Prarambh Society, Maninagar, told Kagdapith police that one of the shots even injured him on the head.

He was rushed to the LG hospital, where the doctors, however, struggled to find the ‘bullet wounds’ on his body and instead discharged him with a clean bill of health! Following this, puzzled cops accompanied Parikh to the crime scene  to find clues. Here, Parikh then pointed to a metal ball-bearing, claiming the object to be one of the ‘bullets’ that grazed his head. This befuddled the cops even more. It was then that they realized that what the victim thought to be bullets from a firearm, were actually metal pellets from an air gun!

Cops said that the ‘bullets’ looked like metal pellets, commonly used in air guns.
However, Kagdapith PI, PU Sisodiya said that the pellet would still be sent for forensic test to ascertain the truth.
