Sexual assault of 4-year-old: Kin of BJP leader wanted

The brother of a BJP councillor of the Dholka Nagarpalika has been accused of sexually assaulting a four-year-old in Dholka.

A complaint registered with the Dholka police by the father of the child states that Manubhai Valjibhai Parmar, brother of Kanubhai Parmar, a nagarpalika member of the BJP, took the child to the terrace of their building on the pretext of playing and sexually assaulted her with his hands and tongue.

The incident came to light when the girl told her father about it while he was bathing her. It further stated that the assault had been going on for sometimes but the accused had threatened the girl of dire consequence.

The complaint has also accused the councillor and his wife of threatening the girl's family.

The family said initially they decided against complaining for fear that it would ruin their reputation but then decided against it. "We went to the house of the accused but all of them are absconding. We are investigating the matter and will soon locate them," said said LB Tadvi, PI Dholka Town police station.
