Few days after the Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC) passed an order fixing provisional fee of various schools in the city, parents of IDP school in Ghatlodia have filed an objection application against the order.

The parents rallied up to the FRC office near Gota circle on Monday afternoon and handed over the application to the officials of the FRC.

In their application, the parents have sought the criteria on which the fees of the school was decided.

They further demanded all the criteria and documents submitted by the school to be made public.

Confirming the same, Dharmesh Patel, member, Vali Swaraj Manch said, “Until the FRC order, the fees of the school was Rs 24000 whereas after the FRC order, it is now Rs 30800.”

“The parents were already agitated due to the harassment caused by the school management over past few months by not letting students sit for exams, threatening them for fees, etc. The government, until now, kept assuring that fees will reduce but after the order, the fees have increased. Aggrieved parents had visited the FRC on Saturday to meet the committee members however they were asked to file an objection application. We want the process to be transparent otherwise the entire motto of constituting an FRC will go for a toss.”

Documents submitted by the schools are not secret documents. Schools are run on our fees so we have the right to know everything. FRC will become a centre of corruption if FRC fails to make documents and criteria public,” he said.

“Since this can happen to anyone, parents of Tripada international school, Divyapath school, Amruta school and others joined a rally which was taken out on Monday”, he added.
