Pro-Hindutva leader Pravin Togadia's health declined on the second day of his fast on Wednesday, but his temperament was intact. Addressing a gathering, he announced his intentions to help the Hindu community on four fronts – health, farmer empowerment, food for all and jobs and education for the poor. He said he would activate a helpline to resolve the common man's issues in India. Togadia had launched an indefinite fast after he was ousted from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad.

Togadia said, "I have decided that the Hindu Helpline dedicated for the distressed and deprived class of society will be activated. That helpline would work on four fronts – health, farmers' welfare, food for all and jobs and education for the poor. I assure that the Hindu community will get help through this helpline. This is not an electoral jumla like our PM Narendra Modi's Rs 15 lakh deposits, but a serious promise."

The VHP strongman said he'd make sure that nobody in the country would go on an empty stomach.

"We have 10,000 medical experts on our panel and more will join. One crore poor people will get free services in private hospitals. I will also make sure that no poor person is on an empty stomach at the end of the day. I am going to run a scheme – Ek Mutthi Anaj – through which grain will reach the poor," Togadia added.

Togadia also announced a movement 'Samriddh Kisan Kar Mukt Kisan', under which he would raise demands with the government for implementation of the Swaminathan committee recommendations for fixing the minimum support price of agricultural produce and other welfare schemes.

Meanwhile, the local unit of the Shiv Sena and association of clothes merchants declared their support for Togadia.
