50 groups from across the country will perform on stages built along the 7-km route
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a 7-km roadshow from the airport to Mahatma Gandhi's Sabarmati Ashram with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in an open-top Gypsy. Netanyahu is on a six-day visit to India.
Besides the entire Ahmedabad police department, companies of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Quick Response Team (QRT), National Security Guards (NSG), Chetak Commandos Force (CCF), State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) will be deployed on the route of the roadshow.
During the half-an-hour roadshow, 50 groups from across the country will perform on the stages built along the road. Metal detectors will be installed at every entry point and each and every person entering the route will be checked thoroughly.
Around 5-km radius of the roadshow, each and every high-rise will have police deployment and open spaces near the route will see armed force. Apart from this, the Israeli Prime Minister's close protection team will also be present at each and every venue. AK Sing, the city Police Commissioner, said, "We have followed all the protocols and made security arrangements for their visit.
The roadshow route will be secured from all sides. Each and every entry point will have metal detectors and no one will be allowed to enter the route without checking."
The police department has made 5 sectors for the roadshow, which will be handled by Deputy Commissioner-level or Superintendent-level police officers, under whom SRP companies will be deployed. Also, the mouth of the road junctions will be sanitised by dog squads, bomb squads and other local police teams.
Meanwhile, the routes from Ahmedabad Airport to Mahatma Gandhi's Ashram will be blocked for the public for four-and-a-half hours between 7.30am to 12 pm, till the VVIP moment gets cleared.
All heavily-loaded vehicles will be diverted towards the route before the roadshow starts. Apart from this, the entire route will become a no-parking zone and the vehicles parked on the routes will be cleared by the traffic departments towing team.
Sudhir Desai, in-charge, JCP of traffic, said, "We have made arrangements and cops will be deployed. The public vehicles could be diverted along other convinient roads. The people can also use 1095 helpline number to resolve traffic issues faster"
