There is a possibility of re-poll for 10 to 15 booths falling under Daskroi and Viramgam seats of Ahmedabad district and Vadgam seat of Banaskantha district. The Election Commission will consider the complaints received from different parties and will take the final call by Saturday morning. If considered, the re-polling will be held on Sunday.

Sources in the government said, "A report has been sent to the Election Commission on the basis of complaints received by local authorities and the commission will take the due decision accordingly. There were several technical issues due to which the polls could not be held in 10 to 15 booths falling in these three constituencies."

In two to three booths, the arrow mark was reportedly seen in front of the name of Congress supported independent candidate Jignesh Mevani. The voters boycotted voting registering their complaint that this was done by someone to influence the voters, added the sources. The local authorities have been directed to investigate the issue and the recommendation of re-polls was received.

On four or more booths each in Daskroi and Viramgam seats, the returning officer forgot to erase the data from mock poll data from EVMs or remove slips from VVPATs. Considering the issue, re-polling is likely in these booths.

The same issue was reported during the first phase of polls and the commission decided to hold re-polls on six booths falling under Jamjodhpur, Umargam, Una and Nizar seats. The re-polls were held on Thursday and total 88.30 per cent voting was recorded for these six booths. The complaints were reported on booths of Ghunada and Manpar villages of Jamjodhpur, Chandod village of Umargam, Bandharda and Gangda villages of Una and Chorvad village of Nizar constituency.

Counting will be held on Monday in Gujarat.
