For the first phase, as many as 1,215 candidates had submitted their nominations

Twenty-eight nominations have been filed for the second phase of state assembly elections slated for December 14. According to officials, 17 nominees filed their papers on Wednesday, the third day of filing the nominations. Eleven nominations had been filed on the first two days.
BJP MLA and candidate from Daskroi seat, Babu Jamna Patel was among the six candidates who filed their nomination papers in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. The other five nominees are independent candidates.
Dinesh Patel and Gajendrasinh Parmar, the BJP candidates from Padra and Sabarkantha respectively, also submitted their candidature forms. November 27 is the last day for filing of nominations.
Ninety-three seats of central and north Gujarat are scheduled to go to polls in the second phase.
