Crash landing for aviation MoUs of Vibrant Gujarat Summit

Only two civil aviation related MoUs signed in three editions of Vibrant Gujarat Summit fructified, information provided by the state government showed.

Ten civil aviation related Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) each were signed at VGS in 2013 and 2015, while the number was 12 in 2017. Civil aviation minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said in a written reply that none of the 10 MoUs signed in 2013 Summit, which had proposed investment of Rs1,098.50 crore, had materialised as of December 2018.

All the 10 MoUs signed in 2015 had been dropped, the minister said. These MoUs had proposed investment of Rs5,426.50 crore.

In 2017, 12 such MoUs were signed, of which 10 have been dropped and two are under implementation as of December 2018, he added.
