CM Vijay Rupani okays 11 new Town Planning schemes across Gujarat

Rupani approved to draft the TPs under Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) that would make a provision for development over 3000 hectare urban land.

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Saturday gave a nod to 11 new town planning schemes (TPs), including eight in Ahmedabad. Rupani approved to draft the TPs under Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) that would make a provision for development over 3000 hectare urban land.

As per a communique released by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), the draft TPs in AUDA area of Kaneti, Aslali, Kathwada, Kanbha-Kunjad, Sanathal-Telav, Dhanaj-Palsana-Saij, Borisana-Kalol-Ola- Pratappura, Bakrol-Badrabad-Kamod and Makarba. One of the schemes at Sargasan in Gandhinagar also got a sanction. Besides, one final TP in Rajkot, of Munjka, also was approved.

"The town planning officers have been directed to final all the draft TPs as soon as possible. We have also instructed the urban authorities to develop the infrastructure required for new residential and commercial area to come up there," The CMO informed.

"A majority of the roads in these TPs will be 18 meters or wider, taking future requirements into consideration. Also, 60km new network of roads will be developed in these areas," the CMO said.

Besides, 180 hectares will be used for roads, 195 hectares for parks and amusement, social infrastructure facilities and other.

With this, Rupani sanctioned 28 drafts and final town planning schemes in the span of nine months. He also expressed a hassle-free and pleasant lifestyle and living standard to the urban population through well-managed town planning schemes.
