Chief Minister Vijay Rupani said on Friday that the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2019 would be held on the theme of ‘Shaping a New India’, and reiterated the state’s commitment to the country’s development through its holistic development approach.
Rupani was speaking at the first meeting of the advisory committee of VGS 2019, which is slated to take place in Gandhinagar from January 18 to 20. The CM said that the Summit would connect youths, small traders and MSMEs, in addition to giving a boost to service sector, manufacturing, business and trading activity.
“Looking at the enthusiasm among youths and young entrepreneurs, we have decided to hold Youth Connect Forums in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot. Young achievers and successful entrepreneurs will interact with youths at these forums,” Rupani told the committee, which comprises senior bureaucrats and leading industry representatives.
Pankaj Patel of Zydus Cadila, Rajendra Shah of SAL, Girish Patel of Sterling, Piruz Khambatta of Rasna, GCCI president Jaimin Vasa, Future Group’s Kishore Biyani, were among those who attended the meeting.
The CM also told the committee that the biennial Summit has become Gujarat’s identity, and that the state government was working closely with the central government, embassies of various countries, and trade and industry organisations to showcase Gujarat. Rupani further said that pharma and medical facilities would be showcased at the Global Summit to promote medical tourism and healthcare. The Summit would also showcase diamond, manufacturing, SEZ and other important sectors, he added.
