Cept students work on improving passenger experience at SVPI airport

A group of students of Cept University have worked on a project to improve passenger experience at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport.

Students of Service Operations Management Studio from the Faculty of Management looked at different aspects of service, operations and management which included vehicular management, counter management, security-hold area, procurement management, baggage and trolley management. The students worked at the domestic as well as the international terminal with an aim to improve passenger experience at the airport and reduce the process time.

An official from the airport said, "While there have been lot of improvements at airport, we wanted expertise in terms of analysis to further better the passenger experience. So the students looked at many factors that included studying the boarding counters, rush hours, route that passengers follow while proceedings towards the security hold area, etc."

The analysis done by the students and the suggestions were submitted to the airport director.

Student bags Gandhian eco-philosophy fellowship

A student from Faculty of Planning has bagged the Gandhian eco-philosophy fellowship which is being anchored by the State Knowledge Management Centre on Climate Change (SKMCCC) at Environmental Planning and Coordination Organization, Government of Madhya Pradesh.

As part of the fellowship, Anupama VS, a second year student from Faculty of Planning, will spend eight months attending guided visits to villages, knowledge centers of Gandhian philosophy, sessions with scholars, which would lead towards writing a research paper on Gandhian philosophy overlapping with environmental sustainability.

In its debut year, the fellowship seeks to provide a platform to support and stimulate scholarly deliberations on the relevance of Gandhian Philosophy in context of sustainable development, environment and climate change.

A national symposium on 'Understanding Gandhian Philosophy Sustainable Development, Environment, Peace' will be organised in the month of October, where all the fellows will be given an opportunity to present their work alongside many other esteemed scholars.
