Hot and humid weather will stay for a few more days. There is no possibility of rainfall in city at the present, weather officials said.

Currently, Ahmedabad is receiving southwesterly to westerly winds at low levels. Monday was partly cloudy.

"Owing to pre-monsoon activity, the city may get slight relief from the swelter. on Tuesday. The maximum temperature is likely to remain 40 to 40 degree Celsius for the entire week," said a MeT official.

Several parts of south Gujarat is expected light to moderate rains next week.

The city recorded 40.6 degree Celsius maximum temperature, which was two degree above the normal, on Monday. The minimum temperature was recorded at 29.7 degree Celsius, two degree Celsius.

The highest maximum temperature was recorded at Vallabh Vidhyanagar and Surendranagar, at 40.7 degree Celsius.
