Earlier, cops said that Vrushti had gone to her childhood friend Shivam's house on September 29. They left Shviam's house the next day and have been missing since then.
Vrushti Kothari and her friend Shivam Patel, who went missing from October 1 onwards are believed to be in Madhya Pradesh. A source in the police said that her mobile phone was located in Madhya Pradesh and they are trying to trace her further.
Earlier, cops said that Vrushti had gone to her childhood friend Shivam's house on September 29. They left Shviam's house the next day and have been missing since then.
"The couple was last seen at the Kalupur Railway station alighting from an autorickshaw. Although Vrushti's mother was not sure if the woman in the CCTV footage outside the station was her daughter," said a source.
Police have been saying from the very beginning that the couple had left the state since they went missing. So far, the cops have taken the statements of Vrushti's parents, their servants as well as the driver, who dropped her at Satyam's place.
Statements of her friends have also been taken. Police said that they also found alcohol bottles at Satyam's place during the search operations.
Sources said Vrushti and Shivam knew each other since class 11 and efforts are on to contact Shivam's parents. They said the last call that Vrushti made was outside the country.
Earlier, city police formed three teams to trace a 24-year-old woman, who studying fashion designing course in the city institute. The matter came to light after actress Soha Ali Khan tweeted about the missing girl and urged cops to find her.
In the tweet on October 2, actor Soha Ali Khan asked the police to trace Vrushti quickly. "Guys! Please help out. Vrushti Jasubhai has been missing for 2 days now and her phone has not been reachable since. She lives in Ahmedabad, her parents are worried. Please help spread the word," she had tweeted.
People close to the matter said Vrushti is a mutual friend of Soha Ali Khan. Vrushti's mother had appealed in a WhatsApp group in helping trace her daughter.
