Ahmedabad: Man strips minor, puts nude photos on internet

A 22-year-old man was held after he allegedly took nude photos of a 13-year-old girl and made it viral after she denied to have sex with him. A complaint of sexual harassment was lodged with Amraiwadi police by the victim's mother on Sunday.

The mother told police that a couple of days ago a nude photo of her daughter went viral on WhatsApp. She alleged that one of their neighbours, Anil Vaghela, had uploaded the pictures on the social media.

The accused had even shared the photos with the victim's brother on WhatsApp. Probing into the matter, the girl's parents found that the image was taken and uploaded two days ago when the victim visited his house and he stripped her.

The accused had allegedly tried to rape the minor, but the victim fought with him.

The accused took advantage of the girl's age and clicked her pictures before sharing them with others. As per the complainant, Anil was a friend of the victim's brother and used to frequent their house. Following an initial investigation, Amraiwadi police have arrested the accused from his house on Sunday late night.

"We have arrested the accused and he is now in judicial custody. During primary interrogation, we came to know that the accused was attracted towards the victim and made her photos viral after she refused him," OM Desai, Inspector of Amraiwadi police station said.

Police said that cases have been lodged against the accused under IPC Sections 354(A), 506(1) and POCSO Act (6, 7).
