If you are feeling the chill these days, well, it is because the minimum temperature in the city has been a degree or two below normal. On Sunday, the city recorded a minimum temperature of 10.7 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal. And those awaiting the best of the weather can take heart from the fact that temperatures are yet to drop below the lowest recorded temperature in the last three years. The lowest temperature recorded was in the range of 8.5 to 9.5 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures are expected to drop to 10 degrees on Monday. Amdavadis, meanwhile, continue to make the most of winter particularly in the evenings. Food stalls reported brisk business too.

Aneri Patel, a college student, said that they had planned a weekend outing. “It being winter, we plan to go to our friend’s farm house and have a barbeque party and a campfire there. This is the best season to enjoy a campfire. Earlier, the chill was yet to set-in and it did not make sense to have such plans,” said Patel.

Interestingly, across the state, it was Gandhinagar that recorded the lowest temperature leaving behind Naliya. The capital recorded a minimum temperature of 9.4 degrees Celsius.
