A complaint of cheating was lodged with the Vatva police station on Sunday by a 31-year-old woman against three builders.

She alleged that she and four other people have been duped of Rs 48.26 lakh by the builders. As per the complaint, the builders have sold the same houses to two different buyers and cheated them.

The complaint was lodged by one of the victims, identified as Phoolmati Yadav (31), a resident of Om Orbit scheme located in Vatva. Yadav works as a health worker with the Urban Health Centre. She stated in her complaint that in 2011, she had booked a flat in the Om Orbit scheme of the Archie Infocon Pvt Ltd owned by Jigar Parikh and two of his partners, identified as Paritosh Patel and Sudhir Patel.

At that time, the house was booked for Rs 11 lakh and until now, she has paid around Rs 8.26 lakh in EMIs.

According to her, a couple of weeks back, she found out that the same house which she had booked had been sold to a woman named Jyotsanaben Modi by the builders in 2012.

Modi had also been given the documents of the house by the builder.
