To bring a solution to the garbage on Mt Pirana, the former leader of the opposition party of AMC, Badruddin Shaikh has written a letter to the municipal commissioner Vijay Nehra asking him to solve the issue as soon as possible.

"I have written a letter to him and if no solution is brought, then I will file a court case after 60 days," said Shaikh.

"We are demanding to conduct a health survey of people who are staying close to the dumping site. Also, we want the municipal corporation to discontinue dumping waste and start processing the solid waste," Shaikh added.

It is to be noted that the civic body has been criticized several times regarding the landfill site by many authorities like Gujarat Pollution Control Board, National Green Tribunal etc.

Badruddin Shaikh also alleges that the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation is not following the scientific method to discard waste, which is becoming harmful to the entire city with respect to land and air pollution. When contacted for comments, AMC director solid waste management Harshad Solanki said, "We are working. We are doing Karma and not waiting for the result, this is what taught in the Geeta."
