Alleging widespread corruption in recruitments and involvement of Gujarat ministers in state’s recruitment scams, the Congress on Tuesday stated that the involvement of Kalyansinh Champawat, a BJP worker and a tuition class owner, in one of the major recruitment scams, reflect the corrupt practices of the Modi government.

“He has done injustice to lakhs of youth and he must accept the responsibility,” said Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee president Arjun Modhwadia, while also alleging scam of Rs300 crore by Gujarat Subordinate Recruitment Board. He demanded CBI inquiry into all the competitive examinations conducted since 2002.

Lambasting the government for appointing inefficient people like terminated factory inspectors at key posts like heading recruitment boards such as the public service commission in the past, the GPCC president said: “In BJP rule terminated factory inspector like KU Mistry was appointed as chairman of Gujarat Public Service Commission.”

Alleging that the BJP has appointed agents like Champawat at every district and taluka level with an eye to raise funds for the party under ‘Dhan Sanchay’ scheme, the Congress said this money is utilized to fund Modi’s prime ministerial dreams.
