With nip in temperature and humidity, two cases of swine flu (H1N1 positive) were reported in the city on Tuesday. Both the patients are females. This year, 79 people were found to have been infected with the virus out of which 12 died.
According to the health department of the civic body, there is a likelihood of increase in the number of such cases.
“Both the patients are stable. While a 35-year-old woman of Thaltej is undergoing treatment at Zydus Hospital, a 66-year-old woman from Bodakdev has been admitted to Sanjivani Hospital,” said Dr Bhavin Solanki, in-charge medical officer of health, AMC.
He said people should avoid self-medication in cases of cold and fever and contact a doctor. “The weather is also conducive for rise in the number of respiratory cases and viral fever,” explained Dr Solanki.
