Only 19 days left for the poll campaign in Gujarat, as the state votes for Lok Sabha elections on April 23. There will be direct face-off between major parties BJP and Congress and amidst this, the BJP has announced the schedule of PM Narendra Modi's public rallies that that he will address on Wednesday.

The ruling party BJP had won all 26 seats in the state under the Modi wave as the party pitched in 'Gujarati PM' factor and the voters were swayed by the agenda. This time in 2017 polls, the party is making effort to repeat the history and therefore they will strive to save their fort from any dent that Congress can cause.

The PM will try to create a wave through the rallies expected to be scheduled in days to come before April 21. State BJP president Jitu Vaghani said the rallies would be conducted in Junagadh town in the Saurashtra region and in south Gujarat's Songadh.

"On the morning of April 10, PM Modi will address a gathering in Junagadh town. People from both Junagadh and adjoining Porbandar Lok Sabha seats will converge there to be part of the gathering," Vaghani said.

Later in the afternoon, the PM will address a rally in Songadh town, in Tapi district, which is part of Bardoli Lok Sabha seat, Vaghani added. "The PM will address people from Bardoli as well as adjoining Navsari Lok Sabha seats in the Songadh rally," he informed.

The entire region is highly populated by Schedule Tribe voters and the community has been showing soft approach for BJP with electing the party candidates in Lok Sabha and assembly polls in majority. The community which was 'pucca' votebank for Congress in past, showed deflection. But the Congress made the come back in 2017 assembly polls and wreathed several seats in the same belt falling in Southern part of state. Therefore, PM's rally in this region is believed to be very important for BJP.

Besides this, the PM will also address the poll rally in Junagadh in the evening and that will cover Porbandar seat and some parts of Rajkot seat too. The area is dominated by OBC voters including Koli(fisherman) and Ahir(nomadic) communities. The OBCs in Gujarat have major chunk of voters that constitutes upto 55 per cent of total votes. The OBC communities, however, vote for the leader belonging to them and not on the party symbol. Therefore, it is very crucial to keep this flock intact for BJP to gain.
