An Indian-origin doctor in the United States, who was accused of fondling a patient in a hospital, has been charged with the criminal sexual abuse of another patient.

Rajat Prakash, a doctor in Illinois since 1993, was charged with sexually abusing a 46-year-old female patient in his car in November last year.

The victim came forward in February after reading about Prakash's earlier alleged attack on a hospital patient, The Chicago Sun-Times reports.

According to Division Chief Mike Kaufmann, the woman said Prakash lured her into his car, saying he wanted to discuss a medical issue with her.

Prakash locked the car doors and tried to kiss her, grabbed her breasts twice as she resisted, then pulled her hand onto his groin.

Charged with felony criminal sexual abuse with force, Prakash is free on 25,000-dollar bail, Kaufmann said.

According to the Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Regulation, Prakash, of Oak Brook, may continue to practice medicine, but only while accompanied by a chaperone.

Following his first arrest, his license was briefly suspended after he failed to supply the department with his chaperone plan, a spokeswoman said.
