A Chinese bar waitress, who overnight turned into a public hero, after stabbing to death a top Chinese Communist party official, who demanded free sex was freed on Tuesday by a county court, which ruled that she acted in self-defence. Deng Yujiao, 21 who caught the imagination of millions of her countrymen when she spurned top Badong County Communist party official Deng Guida's demand for free sex and later as he tried to use his clout to force himself on her, killed him, was freed by the local court.
       
The court exempted the girl from punishment for the crime of intentional injury, saying she was acting in self-defence, the state run Xinhua news agency reported. The county court ruled that the woman had limited criminal liability as it took into account that she had turned herself in, after stabbing the party official with a fruit knife and injuring another partyman.Deng Yujiao became a folk hero as her story hit the headlines in the officially controlled Chinese media, where the coverage was sympathetic.
