China has cancelled another meeting with a Norwegian minister following the award of the Nobel Peace Prize to Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo, the Norwegian fisheries ministry said on Tuesday.

Fisheries minister Lisbeth Berg-Hansen was due to meet officials of China's food safety authority on Wednesday in Beijing but was informed on Tuesday that the meeting was off, according to a ministry spokesperson.

Berg-Hansen is thus cancelling the Beijing leg of her trip and will instead stay in Shanghai through Friday to participate at Norway's pavilion at Expo 2010.

On Monday, the Chinese cancelled a visit by Berg-Hansen with Chinese vice-fisheries minister Niu Dum, also scheduled for Wednesday, in protest at the award of the Nobel Peace Prize to Liu.
