Administration urges extension of Pakistani woman's visa on humanitarian ground

Moved by the sorry condition of a Pakistani woman, facing deportation threat, the Muzaffarnagar district authority has made a plea to the government to allow her to stay on humanitarian ground.
The district administration has urged the state government to extend visa of Rehana Praveen, superintendent of police Praveen Kumar told reporters today.


The 40-year-old Pakistani woman living in Kairana town here since her marriage to one Mohammad Saeed 11 years ago, was on Thursday last served order to leave the country by May 23 following expiry of her long term visa.

Ever since she received the order, the lady has been crying inconsolably for future of her children, aged between one to eight.

Application of Praveen, daughter of an Indian woman who has settled in Pakistan, for Indian nationality has been pending for past many years and she had been staying with her family on the basis of long term visa.
